So the other day I was in my poetry class and we were reading "The Red Wheel Barrow."
The professor said he really liked the poem and asked us what we thought of it.
I said that I don't particularly like the poem.
Then he snapped at me and said, "You had Stoneback. OF COURSE you don't like this poem!"
Just a little ISJ for my buddy in England. :)
BEE TEE DUBS I moshed the SHIT out of Japanther.
I love pushing people around... there's something very satisfyingly
sadistic about it.

Bold Statements
Revolutionary Road was the best movie of this year. Mickey Rourke should have won. Milk was "pretty good" at best. Gran Torino got shafted. Slumdog is this year's Juno, but better.

Who listens to the Watchmen?
Besides completely original music for the film, the Watchmen Soundtrack is going to be made up of a bunch of songs that most of us are familiar with. Any opinions or comments on artist/song selection? Personally, I'm just trying to figure out, based on the book, where the songs would be most appropriate.
Music From The Motion Picture Watchmen track-listing is as follows:
1. Desolation Row - My Chemical Romance
2. Unforgettable - Nat King Cole
3. The Times They Are A-Changin' - Bob Dylan
4. The Sound Of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel
5. Me & Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin
6. I'm Your Boogie Man - KC & The Sunshine Band
7. You're My Thrill - Billie Holiday
8. Pruit Igoe & Prophecies - The Philip Glass Ensemble
9. Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen
10. All Along The Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
11. Ride of the Valkyries - Budapest Symphony Orchestra
12. Pirate Jenny - Nina Simone*
* - used in the end credits of the "Tales From The Black Freighter" DVD.

Revolutionary Road pt. 2
I just saw Revolutionary Road. I really liked it
Spoiiiilerrrsss:
I do think that it does fizzle out, but I also think that's the point. You get these big, big arguments between Kate and Leo all throughout the movie, only to find that it doesn't go anywhere. It's the very definition of being stuck in a rut. She plans to be an actress. Nope. He wants to do something different from his dad. Nope. They plan to go to Paris. Nope.
The big emotional payoff at the end, with the diy abortion and her dying, isn't really a payoff, because he still ends up working for the same bullshit company, trying to take care of the kids. Later on you find a similar couple moving in, and nothing's changed. Fuckin' scaaaary.

I Could Have Sworn Harley Was A Muff Muncher
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/4587541/Lesbian-Batwoman-is-DC-Comics-first-gay-superhero.html
Batwoman is gay. I don't know if that makes me happy or not, though is does prove that Batman Beyond was a farce. That show claimed she was DP-ed by Batman and Robin, and is currently into Mandingo dong (not their exact words but close enough). The world makes no sense anymore.

The Reader
I kept forgetting that The Reader is the fifth movie that is up for Best Picture, mostly due to the fact that no one has seen this movie. So I looked up its scores on MetaCritic and Rotten Tomatoes.
http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/reader?q=the%20reader
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10009498-reader/
Don't worry, I just put the links there as proof on that I'm not making shit up. It has a 58 on MetaCritic (38 reviews), and has a 59 on Rotten Tomatoes (157 reviews). So ultimately I feel like I have been personally fucked in the ass. As someone who considers Wall-E the Best Picture of the Year, and sees that it has a 93 on MetaCritic (39 reviews), and a 96 on Rotten Tomatoes (217 reviews), I feel extremely slighted by the AMPAS. I feel like they don't get it, Wall-E has been one of the highest grossing films of the year, and has received the best ratings of any movie released this year. Those old fucks need to get off their high horses and come to a strong realization that movies that are animated, and if you want to throw Batman into the mix, are about caped crusaders should be more than considered but given credit because more reviewers have a chance to trash these movies, but instead they laud them with universal praise. Instead they allow movies like The Reader, whose rating on MetaCritic only places them 2 points ahead of Twilight. Also, they could get rid of the extremely overrated Frost/Nixon, made by their golden boy, Ron Howard, or The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a movie I really like, but can recognize its fatal flaws. The Golden Globes are much better and truer in respect to how the public feels, as apposed to people who hold their noses up to those that have to actually pay to see a movie.
P.S. Being a Night Host allows me to do a lot of thinking, or perhaps over thinking. This is just me venting. Also, 114Bers are hot.

Islamic Doll Spreads Messages of Hate
As informed by Tycho from Penny Arcade, an evil Islamic doll is spreading messages of pure hatred and destruction to America's youth. Check the following sources, but be prepared for the utmost horror.
Urban Legends

Also, Dunkin' Donuts are propagators of the Islamic Jihad against America.

Super Bowl....I Bet I Know Someone With A Bowl
Just because it is the Super Bowl, I figured I'd let you guys pick who will win. Plus, you will probably make some sort of "other sport being applied to football" reference. In case you are wondering, it's the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Arizona Cardinals. If you want to make a pick based on the current line, right now the Steelers are getting -7. If you guys actually know what that means, I'll award you with a MSP, or, a Mike Sports Point. They aren't worth money, but they do earn you my sports respect for a period of time.
