I saw most of the goings on at a nearby pub. Most of the old guys were pretty indifferent towards the proceedings. After I got bored, I headed to the common room of my dorm, where a bunch of Americans were watching that shit and clapping and whatever.

Personally, I don't know if I've gotten more cynical or realistic in my old age, but shit's not going to change. We might pick ourselves up a bit, and the economy might go up a bit, but China's still gonna pwn the shit out of the world.

Ya, I agree with what you're saying, besides the Axl Rose part; they should have gotten Jay-Z to sing "I Got 99 Problems, but the President ain't one." LOL. As for Gustavo's thoughts, I don't know. He doesn't seem like he'd be outspoken on any issues; most of the foreign exchange kids probably aren't going to voice "real" opinions.
